And So It Begins

Howdy friends!
There has been so much talk on social media lately about body confidence through songs, hashtags, pictures, videos and more. I have always been a really big advocate of positive body image, and am really loving this new Movement. My best friend, Ally, convinced me to write a blog about loving yourself and owning who you are! I am not much of a writer, so we shall see how this goes!!

The point of this blog is going to be a reminder for all to be confident and never let societies expectations throw you down. We are all unique and that's what makes us beautiful. Everyday we are told to lose weight, be a size 2, and conform to the world's opinion of beautiful. That's the thing! We don't all have to be a size 2 in order to be beautiful. Whether you're a size 2 or 22 you don't have to lose or gain weight to be good looking. That's the beauty of it. We are all stunning, and I truly wish that when girls look in the mirror, they all know that they are gorgeous.
I'd love for you all to post any questions you may have about body issues or topics you'd like to hear about and I can try to answer those through blog posts!
Hope to hear from you all soon :)

  2. I know that you are just starting to write this blog but I am already liking it and can't wait to read what you have to say in this blog. I agree with this body movement apart with me being overweight I know that there is many young girls that have body issues. For Example, my niece Isabella is 6 years old and is already very sensitive when it comes to her body. Since she was like 4-5 years old she would compare herself to singers like Ariana, Selena, Demi, and MOSTLY Fifth Harmony by saying that she is to fat and ugly compared to them and that no one will like her especially them. Also every time someone called her fat she would start to cry and say that she knows that she is ugly and she will start looking for me since I am the one she goes to the most to seek comfort. Every time she comes to me I get her to stop cry and I keep telling her that she is really beautiful, special, and perfect the way she is and that God made everybody different for a reason. After we just lay down and listen to music or watch Fifth Harmony videos since they are one of the things that make her laugh and to feel better about herself. Lately she doesn't compare herself with other people as much and if someone calls her fat she still cries but she has been responding back with either God made me beautiful or Fifth Harmony says I am perfect the way I am. But after seeing how upset she gets and how upset I get because of it I started wondering if there is more young girls like her and I believe that there has to be. I hope that this movement helps girls of all ages (and boys too) to feel confident in themselves.
PS. I will be showing her this blog once in awhile and if you want to see a picture of my niece just go to my twitter which is @ ashyharmonizer.
PSS. I am really sorry for the long comment and I am looking forward to what you have to say. :P
